Terrible, Terrible, Terrible

Seriously, I have not posted jack you-know-what on this blog. Yikes!! It's not for lack of baking and cooking. Well the cooking has slowed a bit, but definitely not the baking. Here's one I did for the office a few weeks ago. It was mighty purty if I do say so myself.

Now the trouble is I really have no photography skills, and the unfortunately the best place to take pictures in my apartment is on my espresso-brown coffee table. Which makes for a nice dark background, but my these pictures look dark! I've gotta work on that, as well as figure out my new camera that I bought especially for taking food and cake pictures. Ahhh so much to do, why is there no time!! Well, in case you are wondering, this particular cake is a key lime dream cake and consists of my favorite white cake (1234), key lime curd, meringue and crushed graham crackers. And yes, every bit of that is homemade. The colors are a bit much I realize, but there's a reason. See this cake was made for my creative director, who works on several brands. These are all the colors of his brands. Doesn't it make for such a colorful cake!? I tried not to make it too gaudy. He lurved it though. I got a hug and kiss on the cheek in front of everyone. Awwww  :)
